How it works
The Notary Public Process
The notarisation process in Nigeria — identification, fees and document legalisation: what to bring and how your documents travel across borders.
The Process
Identification, fees & legalisation
What to bring, how fees are assessed, and how we help your documents travel across borders.
Identification requirements
Each person whose signature is to be certified must provide one original identification document at the appointment:
- Passport
- Driving licence (with photo card)
- National identity card
- Resident permit (foreign nationals)
- Other government-issued ID (with photo and signature)
Plus proof of residence:
- Utility bill
- Bank statement
- Council tax document
- Official government correspondence
What it costs
Fees are assessed mainly by reference to the time spent on the matter, on the basis of an hourly charging rate. Fixed fees apply to certain low-fee notary services.
For complex cases, request a quotation through the contact section — you will receive a clear, itemised estimate before any work begins.

We assist with consular legalisation of Nigerian documents to be used in other foreign countries, and can help obtain work authorisation for Nigerians seeking employment abroad.
For company documents, education certificates, diplomas and decree absolute, attendance at the office is not always necessary — much of this can be completed online.
